Communications Liaisons fill a vital role in their agency. They carry the primary responsibility for:

  • Identifying proper internal audiences for SFS communications
  • Using appropriate communications vehicles with these audiences
  • Informing and motivating their internal audiences
  • Supporting SFS agency communications for the SFS Program
  • Coordinating with Agency Coordinators and Training Coordinators in customizing SFS knowledge materials (i.e. SFS Agency Awareness presentation) for agency usage/ delivery

Communications Liaisons help to ensure that SFS information, as provided by the SFS Program directly or through their Agency Coordinator, is:

  • Properly crafted
  • Distributed
  • Understood
  • Published to meet their internal agency SFS communication needs.

The Agency Coordinator is an agency’s primary contact with SFS, and works collaboratively with their Communications Liaison.

It is essential that the Communications Liaison take an active approach in reviewing the communication needs of their agency and, in response, develop or revise an existing Agency Communication Plan to further institute the guidelines for helping create the understanding of and commitment to the use of the SFS at their agency.
